I thought I’ll do a blog on my newly discovered favourite. I’ve always struggled to find a liquid eyeliner that gives me precision, bold black colour, and does not fade out at the wing or smudge throughout the day. In the past, I’ve used quite a few brands of liquid eyeliner and don’t get me wrong some did an alright job. Although I’ve got double eyelids, my main issue is sadly I don’t have much of eyelid space. So you can imagine, it’s slightly difficult finding a liquid eyeliner that can reach into the corner of my inner eyelids. I avoid thick liquid brush eyeliners, because with my lack of eyelid space. If I do draw a thick line it would close my eyes instead of opening it, which I don’t want.
One day I decided to venture off to find a new liquid eyeliner and stumble upon this amazing liquid eyeliner. Say hello to the Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyeliner Pen. The name itself gave it away. Yes, it’s pretty easy to use and you can draw a thin or thick because if gives you so much control especially, when I’m on a moving train.
The eyeliner itself is penlike with a thin brush. The eyeliner pen dispenses the right amount of liquid and it does not smudge, crack, or flake off once it’s on. I’m very impressed how well it glides onto my eyeshadow and how smooth it goes on when applying strokes. It dries relatively quick maybe around 15 seconds, which I need because I usually draw my eyeliner on the train. After many years of doing my makeup on transport, this was probably one of my best investments in my makeup bag. After using this for a month, it shall be repurchased again.
How to use: I usually prime my eyes and apply eyeshadow. Eyeshadow primer is a lifesaver when you have oily lids. No matter what eyeshadow I use, it creases within 2 hours – 3 hours. In the summer my eyeshadow would not stand a chance without the eyeshadow primer. The eyeshadow primer which I absolutely swear by is the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I’ll be talking about this primer in an upcoming blog. When creating a thin line I would use the pointed tip of the brush. To create a thicker line, I would tilt the brush so it’s slightly flat. Usually, I would tilt my head about 15 degrees and start from the outer corner of the eyes, draw a wing line to the middle of the lash line and then come into the inner eye. Everyone has their own preference on how they like to draw ‘the line’. Sorry if the below photo is poor quality, I was on a moving train and using my phone camera.
The Clinique eyeliner is slightly on the more expensive side compared to drugstore liquid eyeliner. If you are looking for a good drugstore liquid eyeliner, I would recommend The L’Oreal Paris Superliner Perfect Slim Eyeliner https://www.superdrug.com/L%27Oreal-Paris/L%27Oreal-Paris-Superliner-Perfect-Slim-Eyeliner-Grey-05-6m/p/552503 at £6.99. The only thing is I wish the Clinique eyeliner was waterproof, but nevertheless, the lasting power is still impressive.
I hope you all enjoyed this blog. If you do try Clinique Pretty Easy™ Liquid Eyelining Pen, feel free to let me know how you got on. Once again thank you so much for visiting.
