Someone actually asked me the other day what my favourite night time skincare product is and that everyone should own. Without any hesitation, of course, it had to be Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. So here we are the question inspired this post!
Ever since I’ve entered into the world being an adult, wearing make-up from earlier hours in the morning till the evening can be harsh on my skin (hands down). After arriving home, I can barely keep my eyes open and the last thing I would want to do is a full facial cleaning regime, ugh the struggle is real. This is why I’m super excited about Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery. Kiehl’s been around since 1851 originally founded as an old-world apothecary in New York. Kiehl is now a modern skin and hair care specialist committed to serving customers fine quality formulations of products for all ages.
The product is on the slightly expensive side, however, a little goes a long way just simply apply 2-3 drops. I bought the 50ml and it’s the Christmas edition, so the bottle is slightly different compared to the bottles they have in stores at the moment.
1| Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender Oil (Lavandula angustifolia) helps has sedative properties and also has the ability to cleanse, remove toxins and soothe inflamed or irritated skin while helping reduce skin blotchiness for a more even look. It helps restore your bright, natural skin tone.
2| Squalane (Perhydrosqualene or perhydrosqualene vegetal)
A signature Kiehl’s ingredient, Squalane is a botanical lipid that is similar in molecular structure to natural skin lipids. It has an exceptional affinity for the skin, and because it’s easily absorbed, Squalane helps restore skin’s natural moisture balance to keep it extra soft and supple.
3| Evening Primrose
Evening Primrose Oil is an effective in skin barrier repair and boosting radiance.
How to Apply:
The texture of the oil is very light and doesn’t feel oily on your skin. I love the way it’s a pipette applicator! As a former scientist, I have a strange addiction towards pipette applicators.
This is my bare face with absolutely no make-up on, after cleansing and toning my face. Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Facial Oil definitely helped my skin look more radiant and refreshed.
I would apply 2-3 drops on the inside of your fingertips. Rub your fingers together this will warm the oil. Gently press the fingertips onto the cheeks, forehead and chin to evenly distribute the application. Then massage gently into the skin. Next, enjoy a good night’s sleep! My skin after 10 minutes of applying the product, look how quickly it absorbs.
The Cindy Verdict:
I have noticed my skin doesn’t have much dry patches compared to when I stopped using this product. When I was traveling for work, I didn’t have the travel sized bottle and it was snowing quite heavily in Belfast. My skin simply couldn’t handle the cold and dry patches started to show. The first thing I did when I arrived back home in London is, cleansed my face, and applied the Midnight Recovery. I felt my skin thanking me for this and thanking Kiel for this product. It absorbed into the skin quite quickly and thanks to Squalane, it helped gain instant results overnight while the evening primrose oil helped to prevent inflammation of a more even skin tone.
I would highly recommend giving this product a try. If you have a local Kiehl’s branch close by, you can get a free sample and try it out for a week. This is exactly what I did before I invested in this product. Remember always patch test before trying any new skin care product. I can now say I love applying make-up on a fresh, hydrated face in the morning.
If you have tried this product before, please let me know how it worked out for your skin care type. I hope you enjoyed this short and informative blog. Once again, thanks for visiting and until next time.
